Terms of Service
Last updated: September 8, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are between you and RS Labs and govern your access to and use of the Slate application, web portal, website, and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using Slate, you agree to these Terms. Our business contact address is 200 N Saint Clair St, Toledo, OH 43604, USA.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Slate.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for the data you and your teammates upload, and for having the rights to upload it.
Organizations and roles
- Slate organizes work into "organizations". Each organization has owners, admins, employees, and viewers.
- Owners and admins manage workspace settings, billing (when applicable), and member access according to their permissions. Shared workspace records and private projects have different access rules.
- When you delete your account, shared workspace records may remain available to the other members. If you are the only owner, Slate transfers ownership to another active admin when one exists. If other members remain but there is no other admin, you must appoint an admin or resolve the workspace membership before account deletion can proceed. A workspace with no other active members is deleted with your account.
Acceptable use
- Don’t use Slate to break the law, infringe others’ rights, or send malware.
- Don’t attempt to access data you don’t have permission to see.
- Don’t reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
AI features
Iris and other AI features may produce inaccurate or misleading results. Always review AI output before relying on it for safety, billing, or legal decisions. AI providers process prompts that may contain excerpts from your data, subject to the terms in our Privacy Policy.
- When you use Iris, your question and relevant excerpts from your workspace data are sent to third-party AI providers (currently Anthropic and/or OpenAI) to generate a response.
- Workspace owners and admins can disable Iris in Settings → Iris. The Privacy Policy explains the effect on work already in progress and information previously sent to providers.
- AI responses may be incorrect. Do not rely on AI output for safety-critical, legal, or financial decisions without human review.
Service availability
During the beta, the Service is provided on an "as is" basis. We may add, remove, or change features without notice. We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee specific availability levels.
Termination
- You can request account deletion from Profile → Delete Account. If you own a shared workspace, complete the ownership steps described above first.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Slate is not a substitute for professional legal, tax, or safety advice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months or US$50.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in-app. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
